Teco donates one warehouse to DSWD
By Ayen Infante 04/09/2008 The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Teco) has contributed one relief goods warehouse to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to equip the government in helping people in times of disasters. DSWD Secretary Esperanza Cabral hailed Teco for providing the agency a new National Resource Operation Center (NROC) warehouse in NAIA Road, Pasay City. At the turnover and inauguration rites, Cabral thanked Teco officials led by representative Dr. Hsin-Hsing Wu, Manila Economic and Cultural Office chairman Tomas Alcantara, director Ma. Isabel Golamco, and other Meco officials for facilitating the donations and making the warehouse construction a reality. Cabral vowed that her agency will put the storage facility to good use. Cabral emphasized that the new facility will boost efficiency of the DSWD to secure and preserve all donations, relief goods and commodities of the agency essential in helping people especially during calamities and emergencies.
