NYT’s man of the year

The New York Times (NYT) clearly is a fan of Rody  for devoting so much space in its opinion page periodically, something which other world leaders, save for the newspaper’s own president, Donald Trump, do not seem to be getting from the same paper.
Its latest editorial on Rody titled How ISIS Grew in the Philippines was an epic NYT-style dirty pool on the Philippine leader.
The piece pretending to be an editorial said Mr. Duterte’s braggadocio is partly to blame for the escalation of the conflict.
Last year, he rejected a ceasefire offer from the Maute group, which is leading the fight in Marawi. He said in December that when the group pledged to “go down upon Marawi to burn the place,” he responded, “Go ahead, do it.”
Of course Rody issues worse statements which  usually get him into trouble with rights groups, when he is in front of soldiers in his own brand of pep talk.
Soldiers do talk on a different wavelength that civilians may consider rude but Rody fully understands this apparently since he shares the same manner of speaking.
The NYT editorial in conclusion said the “the most urgent need now is to ratchet down the fight in Marawi and press Mr. Duterte to restart negotiations with militant groups.”
The mere fact that NYT believes that the Maute groups that led the siege in Marawi City can be negotiated with and that Rody would even consider talking with the terrorist groups proves its disconnect in what is happening in Mindanao.
The NYT editorial board apparently pooled the piece under the influence of some yellow personalities who have been trying in vain to coax an international movement against Rody.
While the rich yellow sentinels abroad who are known to wine and dine prominent people to listen to the lies they peddle, appear to have made headway with rights groups and their government allies, average Filipinos who work abroad totally reject them.
The editorial was begging the claim on Rody when it stated “while President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines was bragging about his brutal war on drugs, the Islamic State (IS) was consolidating its sway over Islamist rebel groups on the island of Mindanao.”
The braggadocio allegations on NYT and attributing it to the growth of the IS was illogical since the Maute, Abu Sayyaf and the other groups which pledged allegiance to the IS, according to global experts, are being instigated to form a caliphate in Southeast Asia due to the terror group’s losses in the Middle East.
The IS has picked the Philippines as its base due to the neglect of the previous administration that made the military and the police weak and corrupt.
The NYT, however, showed its bias as purveyor of American interest when it stated in its editorial “Despite Mr. Duterte’s hostility to America, his army has close ties to the Pentagon, values its help against the extremists and has resisted Mr. Duterte’s efforts to expel the Americans.”
The NYT is viewed by many as an ideal newspaper and through which it owes those who looked up to it the exercise of cold objectivity on the pieces that come out of it.
In a similar editorial titled “Donald Trump Embraces Another Despot” last May, it criticized Trump for inviting Rody, accusing Trump of “embracing an authoritarian leader who is accused of ordering extrajudicial killings of drug suspects and who crudely disparaged Mr. Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama.”
In an April editorial, it called for the unconditional release of Rody critic Sen. Leila de Lima who has been detained on drug trafficking charges and called on the international community, at the same time, to band together to pressure Rody out of power.
The publication came up with a made-up indepth called “Becoming Duterte: The Making of a Philippine Strongman” which seems to be a collection of the tales spun by Edgar Matobato and SPO3 Arturo Lascañas combined that failed to sell locally.
Its worse Rody bashing piece yet was in April when it  came out with a “Let the World Condemn Duterte” after lawyer Jude Sabio filed a complaint against Rody with the International Criminal Court. Sabio was supposedly acting for his client, Edgar Matobato, who in turn is a pawn of the yellow hatchetman against Rody, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV.
NYT in another editorial earlier demanded “Accountability for Duterte” that  the country’s top yellow broadsheet reprinted in full as its banner story to ramp up the largely discredited yellow campaign against Rody.
The NYT, in smearing Rody, appears willing to throw its long-built reputation up in the air, which is a tragedy for journalism.

New York Times is nothing more than a piece of propaganda rag for sale to the highest bidder. The yellow crooks have a lot of money from the trillions they stole from the Filipino people in the 6 years that PNoy Aquino was president.

The NYT, like everything else has a skewered view on all things. It proclaims itself a "liberal," so to hurt a fly, or to defend yourself from a terrorist is anathema to them. The NYT is also extremely naive. We who are here realize that their view is myopic if not outright cross-eyed.
