Turning brilliant ideas into reality: Mansmith Blue Freedom Fund targets talented entrepreneurs

11/18/2007

There are a lot of fresh and exciting business ideas out there, hidden in the minds of young entrepreneurs and budding marketers, waiting to be discovered and nurtured. Most of the time, however, financial constraints force these ideas into hibernation — or worse, extinction.

Aware of this dilemma, Mansmith & Fielders Inc., a leading advocacy-based company into sales and marketing consultancy, is reaching out to young entrepreneurs through the creation of the Mansmith Blue Freedom Fund. This fund is the first ever venture capital fund in the country targeting those who want to start their own business using the brilliant “Blue Ocean Strategy” but lack financial freedom to turn their ideas into a reality.

“In the years that we have been doing training and consultancy to companies and clients, we learned that they are not only asking us to just train them about marketing and sales strategy, but to help them grow and succeed. With this, we conceptualized the Mansmith Blue Freedom Fund as part of our advocacy aside from recognizing excellent practitioners and inspiring young marketers to excel in their profession,” Mansmith president and CEO Chiqui Escareal-Go said.

The Blue Ocean Strategy is the best-selling book of two brilliant professors: Dr. W. Kim Chan and Dr. Renee Mauborgne of Insead, the world’s second largest business school based in Fontainebleau, France. It sold over a million copies on its first year alone, was the top strategy book of 2005 and is now widely acknowledged as one of the top 10 business concepts of all time.

“Blue Ocean Strategy helps corporate executives and entrepreneurs find new market space, instead of competing head-on via destructive price and promo war. It targets non-users and consumers using alternative products and services. It helps find both differentiation and low-cost in a firm’s value proposition, boosting the value provided to both the buyers as well as the firm,” she added.

The recipient of the Mansmith Blue Freedom Fund can be an existing business or a start-up business. Mansmith shall provide a substantial seed capital plus free consultation to the chosen recipient. The proponents of the Blue Ocean Strategy idea must first submit an application using the format indicated in the Mansmith Web site (www.mansmith.net).

The search for the project that the Mansmith Blue Freedom Fund will cover is now ongoing.
