PRSP receives record-breaking 200 Anvil entries

01/20/2008

Entries to the 43rd Anvil Awards reached over 200, the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) reported recently.

“This is the highest level, thus far, in the Anvil Awards’ 43-year history. PRSP is proud to note the very enthusiastic response by companies and public relations practitioners. This has made the Anvil awards even more prestigious,” Juris Soliman, 43rd Anvil Awards chairman, said.

The Anvil has two categories: PR programs and PR tools. These are further divided into various sub-categories, capped by the Bronze Anvil and the Grand Anvil awards. As of press time, a multi-sectoral jury has already started reviewing the entries, which have already passed through a stringent screening and selection process.

“The selection is such that unless standards are met, no award is given,” Soliman said.

Among past Anvil winners are some of the country’s industry leaders from global brands such as Del Monte, Intel, Pfizer and Shell, to local conglomerates like Ayala Corp., Globe, Smart, Jollibee, San Miguel Corp. and Manila North Tollways Corp.

The Anvil awarding ceremonies will be held Feb. 15 at the Grand Ballroom of the InterContinental Manila in Makati City.
