‘Wild Sea-lebration’ at Congo Grille

04/20/2008

Seafood gourmands and food trippers can now eat their fill of succulent marine feasts at Congo Grille, as the metro’s best-loved family grill restaurant brings to shore its “Wild Sea-lebration” summer treats.

If you’re thinking of sumptuous ways to spoil yourself and the rest of the family, go all-out with the Sizzling Seafood platter: an absolute package of shrimp, squid and tahong with sweet and spicy sauce.

Or, if you and your buddies are craving for all-shellfish dishes, Sizzling Clams with Tausi (a winsome tray of fresh clams delicately seasoned with choice spices and black beans), and New Zealand Mussels-3 Ways (imported tongue-teaser mussels baked with tempting toppings such as tomato and cheese salsa, fried garlic and butter, and Rockefeller) are your best picks.

This summertime is also the best season to enjoy Congo Grille’s other seafood specialties, like the Sizzling Stuffed Squid (which is divinely stuffed with cheese, minced pork and spices then braised in a tomato, onion, and ginger sauce), Bangus ala Pobre, Coconut PrawnTempura, Halabos na Sugpo, Crispy Spicy Squid, Seafood Kare-kare, Kinilaw na Tangingue, Grilled Scampi, Fried Pla-pla, Grilled Tuna Belly, Grilled Blue Marlin, Grilled Blue Marlin Belly, Maya-Maya Fillet, Fried Hito, Gambas, and Calamares Rings.

Also delightful must-tries for choosy diners are these authentic Filipino appetizers: Baked Scallops (baked deep sea scallops with tomato, garlic, and melted cheese), Nilasing na Hipon and Crispy Crablets (deep fried tiny sea crabs coated with flour and spices).

Seafood lovers can also take a sip of the restaurant’s soup-based favorites like Sinigang na Ulo ng Salmon sa Miso, Sinigang na Tiyan na Bangus and Cream of Seafood.

With a cool, safari signature ambiance, the family-friendly dining environment at Congo Grille also goes well with its hearty food portions, which are delivered hot and fresh to one’s table. The restaurant’s servers, both friendly and professional, are always on-call and ready to anticipate customers’ needs and requests.

Congo Grille has nine outlets located in El Pueblo, Ortigas Center; Westgate Alabang; SM City Fairview; SM City San Lazaro; SM City Sta. Rosa; SM City Clark; SM Mall of Asia; SM City Pampanga and in Ayala’s Trinoma.
