Swim on track with Lap Track

06/29/2008

The Olympic fever continues to inspire athletes and even ordinary individuals to pursue sports as a wholesome and exciting activity, and among Filipinos, swimming stands out as a favorite hobby that motivates them to keep fit and healthy.

But swimmers, both amateur and professional, still need to be constantly monitored so that they can fulfill fitness goals and not over-exert themselves. Now, there is an automated “coach” which can help them monitor their laps and time in the pool.

Finis Inc. recently unveiled in the Philippine market its latest training gadget for swimmers: the Lap Track. This innovative equipment is an underwater clock which counts the number of laps made, records the time it took to complete each lap, the total swimming time and an estimate of the amount of calories burned.

The Lap Track allows a swimmer to keep track of laps, split times and calories burnt all while continuously swimming. Each time the Lap Track is pressed, the swimmer’s split time will be displayed for five seconds so swimming time is monitored. It also has a lap count down feature which records the amount of laps until the target number is reached.

The Lap Track can be attached to the side of a lap pool using the suction pads. For pools which don’t have a smooth surface, an alternative option is the use of the extending arm to hang the Lap Track from the pool’s edge.

Finis Inc.’s Lap Track is exclusively distributed by Sports Resources Inc., are now available at Toby’s Sports selcted branches.
