Shell strengthens social development efforts in CdO

More than 1,500 residents of Barangays Puntod and Macabalan in Cagayan de Oro City benefitted from the recent social development activities of Shell Philippines’ North Mindanao Import Facility (NMIF) as one of the company’s innovative methods in promoting sustainable development throughout the country and in support of the government’s nation-building efforts.
Shell Philippines constantly works towards realizing its future energy visions by developing new energy sources, while taking care of the welfare of communities through grassroots programs that promote productivity. Forging strong relationships with stakeholders as a good corporate neighbor was the inspiration behind the recent Shell Community Day implemented with the support of DZMM TLC (Teaching, Learning, and Caring) Public Service on Wheels led by Dra. Maria Luisa Ticzon-Puyat.
Held at the North City Central School, a medical mission and an art workshop for the youth were conducted in partnership with SM Supermalls, Philippine Airlines, Hepatology Society of the Philippines, Ideal Vision Center, and United Laboratories. Residents also enjoyed the Zumba session and the sports activities conducted by Milo, in addition to free medical and laboratory services and consultations.
“Our aim is to have a lasting relationship with you as we pursue our sustainable development goals as an integral part of Shell’s business principles. We strongly support the promotion of corporate social responsibility in the country by ensuring the welfare of the communities around our businesses. As a member of NMIF, we aim to be your good neighbor,” said Shell NMIF terminal manager Walter Raagas.
