Solgen slams Morales for hiding closed Rody probe info

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales and her overall Deputy Ombudsman Melchor Arthur Carandang appeared to have wanted Filipinos to believe that President Rodrigo Duterte was still being investigated by Morales’ office and that their evidence against the President was solid, as the Ombudsman deliberately hid the fact for months that the probe on Duterte and his alleged billions in his bank account was terminated and closed.

Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV’s complaint for plunder two years ago at the height of the campaign for the presidential elections against then candidate now President Rodrigo Duterte had already been terminated, Solicitor General Jose Calida said.
He, however, blasted the Ombudsman for not disclosing the fact that the investigation on the Trillanes complaint against the President was closed and terminated last November, yet both Ombudsman Morales and her deputy Ombudsman, Carandang, gave the public the impression that the probe was ongoing and that the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) provided the Ombudsman with the billions in bank transactions of then candidate Duterte. Morales also claimed that the bank statements tyhey held were authentic AMLC bank documents of Duterte and his children, when in fact they were falsified.

Trillanes sued Duterte in May 2016 over allegations of unexplained wealth and undeclared bank accounts. The Solicitor General said he inquired from the Office of the Ombudsman (OMB), through a letter dated Feb. 8, the status of the criminal complaint filed by Trillanes on May 5, 2016 which accused Duterte of maintaining ghost employees in Davao City that could have funded the latter’s P2.4 billion worth of deposits.
“I received a letter from Overall Deputy Ombudsman Carandang stating that the investigation had already been closed and terminated. The recommendation to terminate was approved by Deputy Ombudsman Cyril Ramos on 29 November 2017,” Calida said, citing the reply he received from the Office of the Ombudsman on the matter.
Calida questioned the decision of Ombudsman Morales to withhold from the public the status of the case.
“A public officer must be accountable to the people, serve them with utmost responsibility, integrity, and efficiency,” Calida told reporters during the press conference.
“Ombudsman Carpio-Morales, being the Ombudsman, must be the protector of the people. She has the constitutional duty to publicize matters covered by investigations when the circumstances so warrant and with due prudence,” he noted. “This case involves the President of the Republic of the Philippines. Why are you withholding this information? When this case was filed, a press conference was even conducted. Three months after the termination of the case, the public has still no knowledge that the evidence supporting the allegations of Trillanes is without merit,” he explained.
“If the case, in the magnitude, like this, when the President of the Philippines is the respondent and the case was dismissed by the Office of the Ombudsman, why will they not disclose it to the public? Are they also coddling the complainant, Senator Trillanes?,” Calida asked.
Calida said “Senator Trillanes is always badgering the President about this. Now, what can you say now? His evidence was junked, and because it is junked, it is another word for garbage.”
The government’s top lawyer also said the Senate should stop the hearing about Duterte’s unexplained wealth and undeclared bank accounts considering it is based on the complaint filed before the OMB.
“Knowing that this frivolous case was terminated by the Ombudsman, Senator Trillanes now seeks to have another Senate hearing on the matter to convince the public about his garbage junked by the Ombudsman,” Calida said.
“The Senate should stop this nonsense investigation.” he urged.
Calida said that he will inform President Duterte thru a formal a letter regarding the case.
Malice appears to have been the motive of the Ombudsman as
the investigation on President Rodrigo Duterte’s plunder complaint filed by Trillanes, was closed and terminated in November but the Ombudsman kept silent on this, which shows malice and vindictiveness on the part of the Ombudsman toward the President, for the Ombudsman to make it appear that the probe was still ongoing.

It is not just cookie the ombudsman is hiding this time.

Up to no good, extreme malice.

Why should that utterly dishonest, malicious person be allowed to remain in that office for one more second, not only a waste the country's resources , but extremely destructive for not just reason at all?

That grandma of evil should be in prison now!

PNoy has really done his homework to protect himself in the future as he exited from Malacanang. He put in a rabid and down to the core Yellow cultist Ombudsman in the person of Conchita Carpio Morales. He appointed and put into place some of his classmates and die hard Yellow Cult venerators and devotees in the Supreme Court. These names like Leonen, Caguioa, Jardeleza, and Sereno are securely embedded by PNoy in the highest court of the land to protect him and the agenda of the Liberal (Yellow) Party. These 4 justices of the SC would always favor whatever agenda the Yellow has. Stopping BBM from winning the VP is one of the agendum of the Yellow Cult.
