The local bourse recovered yesterday from last week’s slump due to window dressing and the peso even traded better after touching 41-level by mid-trade.
The composite index rose by 53.83 points or 1.03 percent to 5,300.24 points from last Friday’s 5,246.41 points.
This is, however, slightly lower than its gains in the morning trade.
Also, the broader all shares index went up by 22.69 points or 0.66 percent to 3,475.53 points from the 3,452.84 points at the end of last week.
All the sectoral indices ended the day on a positive note led by the services index with 1.73 percent rise after increasing by 30.41 points to 1,789.43 points from the previous trading day’s 1,759.02 points.
Volume of trade reached 2.59 billion with value reaching P6.58 billion.
Gainers edged losers at 108 to 65 while 39 were unchanged.
Relatively, the local unit gained P0.1 to 42.02 from last Friday’s 42.12 finish.
It opened at 42.05, which is also the currency’s weakest level for the day, while its strongest stood at 41.95.
It averaged at 41.993, better than the 42.276 last Friday.
Volume of trade reached $883.65 million, lower than the previous day’s $1.15 billion. PNA
