Poultry growth helps boost performance of agri industry

The poultry industry reigns supreme in the Philippine Agricultural scene as recent studies show that production in the poultry subsector expanded by 7.06 percent in the first quarter of 2012 alone.
A study conducted by the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics of the Department of Agriculture showed agricultural production grew by 1.08 percent in just the first three months of the current year.
Despite the slowdown in the production of crops and fish, the livestock and poultry subsectors experience significant growth which helped boost the overall performance of the agricultural industry.
Most noteworthy in this boost is the growth in the poultry subsector which represents 14.07 percent of the country’s total agricultural output.
Furthermore, it is the 7.38 percent growth in the production of chicken which contributed highly to the overall boost of the poultry subsector.
With this, the poultry industry is able to contribute 6.74 percent growth in earnings with the gross value of P41.64 billion.
Consumers also remained loyal to their love for chicken as consumption of poultry is tagged at 9Kg per capita consumption for the year 2012.
All three meat sectors — chicken, beef, and pork — have retained their per capita consumption from last year’s rating.
Despite this, chicken remains the most stable of the three as its 9KG per capita consumption remains ahead of beef’s 4Kg and pork’s 13Kg which represented a -7.4 percent dip from their standing in 2010.
Poultry integrators, like Bounty Fresh, may have felt the need for a more competitive performance now that the poultry industry expansion entails greater demands as the rate of imported poultry products decline.
Bounty Fresh, which remains to be at the forefront of the industry, sees this expansion as an opportunity to invest in new production facilities, processing, agricultural machineries, and other inputs.
According to Bounty Fresh Food Inc. Group marketing manager, Patricia Cheng, “The continued expansion in the industry would contract importation. Domestic demands are more likely to be satisfied by Filipino producers.”
Clearly, the business of the production and consumption of chicken is a force to be reckoned with. This sector is undeniably the best in our country’s current agricultural setting and so consumers expect nothing but the best from the best. Luckily, our country has Bounty Fresh Chicken at the forefront of the poultry industry. Bounty Fresh Chicken is the safest, healthiest, and definitely best choice chicken we have today. Holding on to its commitment of serving the freshest poultry to Filipinos, Bounty Fresh Chicken proves to be the best in the market.
