Multiply, the largest online marketplace in Southeast Asia, has added Smart Money to their list of payment options that now allows shoppers to purchase items from any of its 130,000 online merchants, even without logging into the site.
Through its partnership with Smart Money, Multiply aims to remain at the forefront of virtual shopping in the region by allowing even more shoppers to buy items just by entering their mobile numbers.
With the addition of Smart Money, Multiply shoppers can transact online instantly, conveniently and securely because Smart Money accounts are locked by default and need authorization by the shoppers every time they make a transaction.
To shop online at Multiply.com Smart Money subscribers simply browse the Multiply Marketplace, adding items into their shopping carts from as many merchants as they wish. To complete the transaction, one simply needs to click “Proceed to Checkout,” select Smart Money as the preferred payment method, and unlock one’s Smart Money account. Multiply will then prompt the shopper to key in their Smart mobile number, afterwhich the shopper will soon receive an SMS from Smart, confirming their successful transaction.
As a safety measure, all Smart Money accounts automatically revert to locked status after 30 minutes, or after two transactions.
Smart Money is the latest among Multiply’s list of payment options. Others can also opt to pay via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB), over-the-counter bank payments through BdO and BPI, as well as G-Cash or PayPal.
Multiply opens its doors to more customers, as non-Multiply users can now shop without opening or logging into an account through its new Guest Checkout option. Now, one can make online purchases simply by entering one’s email address. Leading global e-commerce websites have used a similar feature to ensure better buyer conversion.
“We understand the value of our shoppers’ time so we continue to find ways to make transactions as fast and easy as possible. This new feature is especially useful for those who only want to purchase one item or wish to shop anonymously,” said Jack Madrid, country manager of Multiply Philippines. However, there are several benefits to being a member of Southeast Asia’s largest shopping community — some of these are convenient communication with merchants, a record of all your previous transactions, regular product recommendations and sale alerts from one’s favorite shops.
Multiply continuously seeks to find ways to keep their loyal sellers and shoppers satisfied while reaching out to untapped consumers. By expanding their options while providing security for their merchants and shoppers, including 5.5 million Filipinos, Multiply remains to be the go-to site for online shopping in the Southeast Asia.
