Philippine Airlines is again offering another irresistible deal — every purchase of a ticket to a PAL international point automatically entitles the passenger to a free ticket to any PAL domestic destination. Dubbed “Fly Global, Get Local,” the promo covers both Fiesta Class (economy) and Mabuhay Class (business) tickets in a straightforward exchange: Passengers buying international tickets on a particular service class receive free domestic tickets on the same service class. Likewise, purchasing round-trip international tickets results in free round-trip domestic tickets. One-way international ticket purchases are allowed; the corresponding free domestic ticket is also one-way. The promo considers only passengers paying full adult fares. Fares under the “deal fare” category do not qualify. The promo is available from Aug. 19 to 25. The free domestic ticket is valid for travel between Sept. 1 and Oct. 26, and may be claimed at any PAL ticket office in the Philippines after the outbound-Manila international ticket is flown or three days after arrival but no later than Oct. 26. SM malls start relief drive
As a response to recent calamities, SM Supermalls launched “Operation Tulong Express” wherein donations and relief goods were distributed to various barangays and communities severely affected by the recent monsoon rains and flooding. The malls also served as a hub in accepting various donations from customers and tenants, which in turn, will be given through the SM Foundation. Various drop-off points were established inside the malls which allow people to give donations in cash or in kind. As an integral part of the local community, each SM Supermall immediately coordinated with the local government in order to determine the areas and evacuation centres that needed help. Despite the continuous heavy downpour and flooding all over the Metro Manila, employees and volunteers from various sectors were ready to do their share in helping the distraught members of the community. Operation Tulong Express provides an opportunity for SM to be one with the community in helping the thousands of Filipinos affected by the calamity.
UE grand homecoming set
University of the East (UE) alumni will celebrate the 2012 grand homecoming with the theme “Brave Heart” which is scheduled on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 5 p.m. onwards, at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the newly built Dr. Lucio C.
