Pushing steadily forward with its massive nationwide network transformation, Globe Telecom announced the recent completion of its new infrastructure facilities in northern and eastern Metro Manila, as well as the province of Rizal.
Globe has already modernized its equipment in high traffic areas such as Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela (Camanava), Marikina City, as well as the towns of Angono, Antipolo, Baras, Binangonan, Cardona, Jala-Jala, Morong, Pililia, Rodriguez, San Mateo, Tanay and Teresa in Rizal.
Robert Tan, chief technical adviser of Globe Telecom, said “these infrastructure change-outs are progressively being rolled out to complete the first phase of our network modernization program. Once new equipment has been installed in an area, we will progressively activate 3G, 4G HSPA+ and advance capabilities to deliver superior customer experience.”
“During the course of the modernization, customers will already experience faster mobile data speed of up to 21 mbps which is comparable to the mobile internet quality of most developed countries in the world,” Tan said.
“Our new state-of-the-art hardware can support simultaneous usage of call, text and mobile Internet even at peak periods, ready to bring a new level of enjoyment to our Globe subscribers,” he added.
Tan further confirmed that infrastructure change-outs are already being rolled out in key areas in Metro Manila like Quezon City, Ortigas and Mandaluyong and are expected to go live by the third quarter of 2012.
