If what a member of the House related the other day is true about those in Noynoy’s cut-throat circle are already jockeying for the juicy top post at the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) even before the real fate of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo is ascertained, then it only proves the subhuman character of people around Noynoy.
Quezon City Rep. Winnie Castelo, a member of Noynoy’s Liberal Party, appealed to unnamed individuals or groups, presumably LP allies, to stop what was termed as an “infighting” that had erupted right after news broke that Robredo was missing after the light aircraft he was riding in, crashed on the seas off Masbate.
The congressman also mentioned the “intensifying” positioning for Robredo’s post the longer the search for the DILG chief fails to produce any result.
Apparently these vultures may be joining the prayers for Robredo for an entirely different selfish reason, which is too wicked to even be given thought.
Castelo, on the other hand, may just be speculating since it would be unthinkable, for instance, that Mar Roxas, a close friend of Robredo, would have another agenda in suddenly hijacking the communications operations involving the search for the DILG chief.
Roxas is taking control to assure that the DILG post remains within the Balay faction? No, it can’t be that. It is also not possible that Roxas is squeezing every ounce of media mileage out of the search operations for Robredo which may last weeks or even months to launch a future political campaign. It’s just not within the realm of human decency.
Whatever the administration people of Noynoy are, or aren’t, whatever motives imputed to them — for whatever reason, it is unthinkable that they do not feel any sadness or sympathy for the frustration they must all be feeling after so many days of searching for Robredo and two pilots with him, and not being able to rescue the Interior secretary.
Castelo thus may have just been too emotionally affected by the continued disappearance of Robredo that has made the QC solon start to construe the acts of concern by those in Noynoy’s circle as having sinister motives.
The top DILG post indeed is a pivotal seat in government primarily in an election year such as 2013 and from the post emanates the direct link, if not control, by the administration of the local government units, which in turn, can be crucial in determining victory or defeat at the polls.
There have been reports — and speculation — over the replacement of Robredo as DILG chief long before the crash, with a senator having already met Noynoy for a Cabinet position, which is presumed to be teh DILG. But Castelo is probably merely being sensational in equating the overzealous expression of concern or empathy with Robredo and his family as a sign of various eyes starting to moisten not on the tragedy but for the post that Robredo will potentially leave vacant.
Castelo could be way off target when he indicated that talks have already started within Noynoy’s circle on a replacement while Noynoy and his wards make a show out of wishing for a miracle on Robredo and his two pilots to be recovered alive.
All of Castelo’s views should be considered a false alarm since the human species are considered not capable of such thoughtless acts — at least not all of the humans.
Castelo could just have said that many in Noynoy’s sphere would shed a tear if Robredo turns up alive, and not out of relief.
No, those are just not possible, it’s not human. But are politicians human?
But as humans — including politicians --- nobody should take such opportunistic moves to replace one who may not even be dead. That’s ghoulish.
