Heidi Mendoza, attack dog of Palace and LP

The most popular official of the land, Vice President Jejomar Binay is getting to be the new flavor of Malacañang and the Liberal Party(LP). After Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, then Chief Justice (CJ) Renato Corona, the Palace is now aiming its gun on Jojo, who is predicted by many Filipinos to become the next President either by election or by substitution due the people’s confidence and trust in his performance.
All pollsters say he is the most trusted and popular official of the Aquino administration. People believe in the sincerity and capability of the Vice President because he is always one step ahead whenever there is a need to help any Filipino. Whenever, there is a calamity such as a typhoon or earthquake, VP Binay is already there at the site,
He is also the darling of the OFWs because he is ready to help them, whether in his various trips to the Middle East to help rescue some workers or in China to save a worker to be sentenced to death.
But Binay’s popularity does not sit well with certain people in the Palace and the LP. Although, VP Binay was too modest in saying that BS Aquino was not involved, certain quarters are saying it is indeed Pnoycchio who is behind Binay’s attack. And because of this fear or perhaps envy of Jojo, one of his attack dogs who was also behind the tinkering of the bank accounts of Corona and fed malicious accusations to the Ombudsman by bloating the amount that CJ had with the banks, is at it again, this time digging dirt against Binay. This attack dog is no other than Ms. Heidi Mendoza, who was mysteriously appointed to the position of commissioner of the Commission on Audit (CoA), despite having inferior qualifications than those more senior incumbent officials. The only claim to fame of this Mendoza lady was her having testified at the Senate trial against some generals accused of wrongdoing. Mendoza, at the Senate trial accused some generals which included Gen. Angelo Reyes, Roy Cimatu, Gen. Abu and Ligot of pocketing certain funds purportedly paid to soldiers serving the United Nations in its peace-keeping mission to certain countries. According to her, the UN had already remitted thousands of dollars to the Armed Forces, but the money never reached the soldiers as this was taken as part of the “pabaon” of certain retiring generals.
However, when checked by the current AFP administration if there were such UN funds received, there was none and in fact the UN itself denied that there were funds remitted to the armed forces.
It seemed from her testimony, Mendoza she had deliberately lied and some insiders at the AFP called her a liar.
Now, from newspaper reports it was said that CoA is forming a team of investigators headed by Mendoza to dig into the cases filed against the VP when he was still mayor of Makati. As to why only now they’re conducting the investigation is clearly suspect. Besides, the cases accusing the VP of corruption has long been dismissed by the Ombudsman during the time of GMA. You cannot say that the dismissal of these case was questionable because Mayor Jojo Binay was an enemy of the GMA regime and if there was a basis for the charge, the Ombudsman could have filed it at that time, but it was instead dismissed. So why beat a dead horse. Why resurrect a case already dismissed, when the VP is supposed to be an ally of BS Aquino.
They only conclusion is that Pnoycchio and his yellow herd are a bunch of hypocrites, pretending to be friends of the VP but stabbing his back.
The Chinese speaking spokesman of Malacañang was quick to defend Mendoza. He said, CoA is an independent body and she knows what she is doing. Well, Mr. Lacierda, true the Constitution provides that the CoA is one of the independent constitutional bodies but this does not extend to the independence of the appointees who run the agency or the institution. It was pretty obvious that Mendoza would do anything at the behest of her benefactor because she believes she owes much to him for being appointed to a very high position at the expense of the more senior officials of the CoA who deserved promotion.
The VP had stated that he had already heard from the grapevine that by December, he will follow the footsteps of CJ Corona. That an impeachment case against the VP will be pushed by the hordes at the House. And the VP just laughed off the plan because he knows that these are exercises in futility. So long as he is doing a good job, and performed the task assigned to him and that he delivers the good programs to benefit the people, no amount of evil plans hatched by Pnoycchio and his cohorts can put a good man down. On the contrary, Pnoycchio should watch out because his popularity is dwindling. Nobody believes all his BS at the Sona because no amount of window dressing can make it true. It is what the people really feel and experience that counts.
