Blame it on Noy

A few days ago, Noynoy, commenting on the announcement by the doctor of Gloria Arrroyo on her serious medical condition, claimed that the issue is out of his hands, because of her hold departure orders (HDOs), thus, the decision rests on the courts.
That should be the right thing to say and do.
But yesterday, Malacañang insisted on an independent verification of the former President serious condition that could lead to sudden death condition, before allowing her to seek medical treatment abroad.
But did not Noynoy already say that this is a decision of the court and not of Malacañang? Why then is he again butting in an area which again is not within his mandate or his province?
Lady Gaga asked the public not to speculate on what would happen if the court allowed Mrs. Arroyo to go abroad.
She said that Budget Secretary Butch Abad has already said that Gloria’s condition will have to be verified independently and that the mode of the verification will have to be discussed apparently by Noynoy and Abad.
Apparently, from what Abad stated, Noynoy and his boys will be the ones to determine whether there are specialists and facilities in the country to continue caring for Gloria in the country.
“If yes, well and good; if no, can those specialists and facilities be brought into the country to treat her?” Abad was quoted in the report as saying.
The point is, why should the Palace even get into this issue, when it is already the courts’ business to decide whether to lift their HDOs issued against her, and not the Palace.
It is not unusual for courts to lift their HDOs on an accused, as long as there is a valid reason for it.
Imelda Marcos, out of bail, had HDOs issued by the courts against her, yet they lifted these orders and allowed her to seek treatment abroad for her glaucoma.
Why should it be Noynoy and his aides who have to verify whether Gloria’s condition is serious?
Who is Noynoy going to get to verify this? His Health secretary, Enrique Ona, who checked on Gloria last year? Just what did he, a kidney doctor say, if not what Noynoy wanted him to say? After all, he is the alter ego of Noynoy, and everbody knows just how vindictive Noynoy is, and wants to keep Gloria in jail.
I swear, Noynoy is worse than Marcos who had allowed Noynoy’s father, Ninoy, to leave for abroad for medical treatment for his heart problem. Ninoy had already been convicted of murder and sedition, or something worse, yet he was allowed to leave, even when there were good heart doctors here.
The fact is Noynoy is punishing Gloria by insisting on keeping her detained, whether her condition is serious or not, no matter what her doctor says.
Admit it or not, Gloria may be an accused in whatever charges Noynoy brought against her, but she should still be presumed innocent  at this point because like it or not, she has not been convicted of any crime, and already she is being punished with long-term detention.
But there went Lady Gaga, now saying that Philippine Medical Association vice president Leo Olarte has indicated that there are “capable physicians” in the Philippines who can perform the surgery that may be required.
Good grief! These people are truly vindictive and even sadistic at the core.
Gloria precisely has had local surgeons operating on her which failed which is why her condition today has deteriorated to the point where she can die suddenly.
And just who is Olarte to even come up and say that there are doctors who can perform this serious operation on Gloria? He may be a VP of the PMA, but he should also know that it is always the patient’s choice of surgeons or doctors that has to prevail, because the important issue between doctor and patient is trust and confidence of the patient in her doctor.
Gloria for all she is, and isn’t, trusted the local surgeons and underwent the operations needed. They were unsuccessful. Not that they were not capable, but the operation went wrong.
Still, if Noynoy insists on punishing her and refusing to let her leave, then if she dies, the only person to blame is the vindictive Noynoy.
