In celebration of Heritage Month of May and the “National Interior Design Week” under Presidential Proclamation No. 390, a heritage tour was organized and held last May 28 to 30.
Interior designers from both the industry and academe from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao went to Cebu and Carcar to rediscover their cultural heritage in keeping with this year’s Continuing Professional Education (CPE) theme, “Redefining Filipino Interior Design.”
The heritage tour was a three-day event packed with learning on Ecclesiastical Design, ancestral houses circa 1700 to 1900. This was held in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) and sponsorship of Davies Paints. It was an event of a learning discovery and camaraderie.
Tour participants include Budji Layug, Arlen de Guzman, Jiro Estaniel, Ivy Almario, Anton Mendoza, Belen Morey, Sonia Olivares, Lilia de Jesus, Jonathan Matti and Ed Calma.
