The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has approved the promotion of 10 members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) for displaying bravery.
This after Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo who sits as chairman of Napolcom approved the recommendation of the en banc through Resolution Nos. 2012 and 2012-252 where the 10 cops were granted special promotion.
Napolcom vice chairman and executive officer Eduardo Escueta said the agency approved the special promotion to the next higher rank of Insp. Escueta said the group was responsible for the assault on the group of communist terrorist leader Jose Asko during combat operation on May 12, 2011 in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Piat, Cagayan which resulted in the killing of five communist terrorists, wounding of three and capture of one unharmed female as well as the recovery of numerous firearms, live ammunition and magazines, hand-held radios, cellular phones, flash drives and cash in the amount of P98,940.25.
The Commission also approved the special promotion to the next higher rank of Senior Insp. The Napolcom approved the recommendation of PNP chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome for the special promotion of the 10 police officers following the recommendations made by the PNP Special Promotion Awards and Decorations Board.
“While the Napolcom remains committed to continuously cleanse and professionalize the PNP, we also take cognizance of the outstanding accomplishments of our police officers by promoting those who truly deserve career advancement in the police service,” Escueta said.
