DPWH-NCR rushes repair of roads damaged by monsoon rains

The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) has been working round the clock to restore roads damaged by monsoon rains.
DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson said the NCR has already dispatched 63 teams or about 433 personnel from nine NCR district engineering offices for immediate action on damaged pavements of national highways in Metro Manila which have caused the slowing down of vehicular flow.
About 14 teams or 90 personnel from North Manila Engineering District are jointly undertaking asphalt patching on Tayuman corner Dagupan, Del Pan Bridge and J. Abad Santos Avenue; declogging works on Andalucia corner Laon-Laan, España Boulevard from Lerma and Maceda, R-10 Road from Pacheco to C-2 Road, R. Magsaysay Boulevard from Pureza to Magsaysay Bridge III, M. de la Fuente corner Hernandez, and squaring works on V. Mapa from corner Old Sta. Mesa to P. Sanchez.
The South Manila Engineering District has deployed seven teams or 42 personnel to do asphalt patching and squaring works on Quirino Avenue from Roxas Boulevard to Nagtahan Bridge and South Superhighway from P. Quirino to Makati Boundary, including the use of one rotomilling machine for asphalt road on UN Avenue from Guanzon Street to Romualdez Street, and declogging works at Roxas Boulevard from Padre Faura Street to P. Ocampo Street and San Marcelino Street from UN Avenue to Paco Park.
In Quezon City, five teams or some 40 workers from Quezon City First Engineering District Office are undertaking asphalt patching on IBP Road from Litex to Sandiganbayan and Commonwealth Avenue fronting Sandiganbayan, and squaring works on Fairview Avenue Pearl Street and Regalado Avenue (North) from Fairview Avenue to Quezon Avenue.
The Quezon City Second Engineering District Office has deployed 10 teams or 80 personnel to undertake potholes patching on Katipunan Avenue/C-5 Road (Broadcast City-Ortigas Avenue), C.P. Garcia from University Avenue to Katipunan Avenue, Mother Ignacia, Timog Avenue, Elliptical Road, Maginhawa Street and V. Luna Road. The District Office crew also conducts declogging works on Quezon Avenue from Welcome Rotonda to Elliptical Road, Maginhawa Street and V. Luna Road corner Anonas Street.
The First Metro Manila Engineering District has pooled its 30 personnel into five teams to do road repair works on Edsa from V. V. Soliven-Guadalupe Bridge, Ortigas Avenue from C-5 Road to Santolan Road and Green Meadows Subdivision, and declogging at Pasig Boulevard from Hillcrest to Rotonda.
In the area of Parañaque and Makati City, the Second Metro Manila Engineering District mobilized five teams composed of 30 personnel to conduct asphalt patching on Ninoy Aquino Avenue from Kabihasnan to La Huerta (northbound) and C-5 Road from Km. 17 to Pasig Bridge as well as declogging works on Quirino Avenue from Km. 7 to Airport Road.
With jurisdiction over national roads in the cities of Las Piñas and Muntinlupa, Second Metro Manila Sub-District Engineering Office deployed five teams with 35 crews to undertake declogging works, including repair of manhole cover on Manila South Road-Muntinlupa Road from Sea Oil to Pepsi, Manila South Road-East Service Road from Km. 23+300 to near Balbanero Compound, Parañaque-Sucat Road Boundary to PNR Railtrack, Manila South Road-Quirino Avenue from Perpetual Village to DMCI Homes, International Receiver Road from Tropical Avenue to Saging Street and Zapote-Alabang Road from Jollibee to Admiral Avenue.
In the cities of Caloocan and Valenzuela, 50 personnel comprising six teams were assigned by Third Metro Manila Engineering District to undertake squaring and potholes patching works on Edsa from Monumento Circle to Gen. Simon Street, MacArthur Highway from Monumento Circle to Reparo Road south bound in Caloocan City and V. Hermosa Street to FTI Road in Valenzuela City; declogging and disposal of spoils on T. Santiago Street to FTI Road, and temporary patching activity on damage on East Service Road from Valenzuela Exit of Nlex to Sapang Bakaw Street.
The Malabon-Navotas District Engineering Office has deployed six  teams with 36 personnel to undertake declogging on R-10 Road from C-3 Road to M. Naval, C-3 Road from North Bay Boulevard to C-3 Bridge, M.H. del Pilar from Kaingin Road to Tejeron, and C-4 Road from Borromeo Street to Dagat-Dagatan to include the cleaning of waterways at Malabon Bridge located on P. Aquino Street and asphalt patching on MacArthur Highway from University to Victoneta Avenue.
