Another high-risk inmate managed to escape from NBP

Another high-risk inmate has been reported missing on Wednesday night inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
Murder convict Rommel Laciste, who was detained at the maximum compound of the NBP, is missing.
Laciste was discovered missing on the night of Aug. 15 during a head count and some hours after Rolito Go was recaptured by police operatives.
Unlike Go, who was detained at the minimum security compound of the NBP, Laciste was detained at the maximum security compound.
Records show Laciste was convicted by the Isabela Regional Trial Court for murder.
Jail investigators strongly believed Laciste managed to escape by boarding a truck that supply rice to the NBP.
Investigation is still ongoing while search teams are now conducting massive manhunt operations against Laciste.
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, the current head of the NBP following the indefinite leave of Bureau of Corrections chief Gaudencio Pangilinan, learned of the missing inmate during her visit to the NBP in Muntinlupa City on Friday.
Meanwhile, convicted killer Rolito Go was placed at the maximum security compound inside the NBP.
Go was transferred to the maximum security compound to enable him to get the medical attention that he needs.
Go is suffering from colon cancer and undergoing medications.
He is now confined at the New Bilibid Hospital located inside the maximum security compound since his medical situation is still being considered.
Go has a colostomy bag that needs to be drained and cleaned almost everyday.
Go was meted life sentence for killing an engineering student, Eldon Maguan, in 1991. But because of his good behavior, he is set to be out of prison next year.
Last Tuesday night, prison officials discovered that Go was missing during head count. He was last sighted at the Ina ng Awa Church at 7 p.m. on Tuesday where he used to serve as lay minister.
His relatives claimed Go and his nephew, Clemence Yu, were abducted inside the prison.
The two surfaced the following day in Alabang. They claimed  the kidnappers abandoned them in Tanauan, Batangas.
