The Blue Eagles turned back University of the Philippines, 4-1, while the Bulldogs blanked winless University of the East, 5-0.
Ateneo and NU, last season's finalists, improved to 4-0 record, with three games remaining in the single-round eliminations.
Reigning MVP Toby Gadi silenced Marc Gio Fajardo with 21-10, 21-8 in the first singles while Justin Natividad outshined Charlo Tengco, 19-21, 21-16, 21-19 in the second singles.
Gadi and Patrick Natividad joined forces to defeat Gian Carlo Manuel and John Jelson Masongsong with 21-8, 21-16 in the first doubles to clinch the tie for the Eagles.
The Bulldogs were dominating throughout the tie, as Jayson Oba-Ob won against Daryll Soledad, 21-14, 21-18, while Emmanuel Garcia crushed Jose Luis Gomez, 21-17, 21-17 in the first and second singles respectively.
Andrei Babad and Joper Escueta joined forces to secure NU's win as the duo walloped Marco Bermejo and Daryll Soledad, 21-19, 21-7.
