University of Santo Tomas seeks to retain the women’s championship as the much-awaited UAAP Season 75 beach volleyball tournament opens this Saturday at the UE Caloocan sand court.
Last season’s MVP Judy Caballejo and Maru Banaticla of the Tigresses and the Adamson pair of Pau Soriano and Sheila Pineda collide in the first match at 8 a.m.
Ateneo’s Fille Cainglet and Bea Tan, meanwhile, gird up for an early showdown with La Salle’s Kim Fajardo and Wensh Tiu at 8:30 a.m.
Far Eastern University battles University of the Philippines at 9 a.m., while University of the East and National University caps the women’s division morning session at 9:30 a.m.
The Lady Archers and the Lady Bulldogs return later in the afternoon for their 1:30 p.m. meeting, right after the 1 p.m. tussle between the Lady Falcons and the Lady Maroons.
In men’s play, FEU begins its bid for a three-peat as it collides with Adamson at 10 a.m., followed by the UST-UP match at 10:30 a.m.
In other men’s matches scheduled, NU and La Salle face off at 11 a.m, while UE and Ateneo cross paths at 11:30 a.m.
