Louis Vuitton Women’s Collection Fall/Winter 2008-2009

Striking images in the dusk light, the ethereal silhouettes of the 2008-2009 fall/winter Louis Vuitton (LV) collection interpret a new idea of femininity. With sculpted forms and redefined spaces, Marc Jacobs offers up a very bold collection.

It is a dreamlike landscape in contours outlined by a range of pastel colors. The almond green of a flounced blouse is matched with the sandy beige of a straight skirt; the lilac of a flared skirt prolongs the discreet yellow of the wooden jacket. Powdery pink, azure blue, pearl grey, ash cream, pale yellow... The colors of sugar almonds, flower petals and old rose scents. Sometimes friend, sometimes foe, black responds to pastel colors. Student black with a straight knee skirt and grey pleated jumper. City slicker black with a very short woolen jacket, retro cut and futurist look. Also business woman black, strict shirt with very long sleeves. Seductive and demanding black for the world of the night, with three spectacular evening dresses: a contemporary triptych, these embroidered, destructured and asymmetrical dresses shine out in their radiant black.

Bags

In extremely soft materials and winter shades, Louis Vuitton’s range of bags reflects elegance and refinement. Suede corduroy makes materials entry into the Monogram Suede Embossed line which matches up this exceptionally soft material with python handles. A precious details that will not escape the attention of connoisseurs, a padlock featuring the LV seal adorns the corner of the bag, a modern illusion to the history of the Monogram canvas.

With its metallic leather and iridescent tints, the Monogram Shimmer line combines its futuristic look with fifties shades inherited from a make-up palette.
