Manresa School holds annual Family Day today
11/29/2008 The Manresa School, in cooperation with the Manresa School Parents Auxiliary (MSPA), will hold its annual Family Day celebration today (Nov. 29) and tomorrow (Nov. 30) at the school campus in Parañaque City. Sr. Nelida Penaflorida, F.I. School directress and principal, said the two-day celebration is a recognition “of the vital and indispensable role of parents and family in the education and formation of the students.” “The two-day celebration is also an opportune time of memorable bonding and sharing of the families,” she added. MSPA president and architect Angeles Articulo said various activities have been lined up in the two-day celebration. Among these are the family fund games, arts and crafts, cultural show, variety show, costume parade, filed demonstration, cheering exhibition, battle of the bands, dancercise, medical caravan, mad science, concert, kite flying, laro ng lahi, and bida sa eskwela caravan, among other things. Articulo said the MPSA — together with the Manresa School Alumni Association and the Manresa School Faculty and Staff Organization — has been conducting outreach projects and implementing scholarship programs for poor but deserving students. Today’s activities will start with a dancercise at 6 a.m. at the school gym. A liturgical mass at 7:30 a.m. will usher in tomorrow’s celebration. Several companies and institutions have contributed to this year’s Family Day celebration. Among these are Ford Group Philippines, Centro Escolar University, Smart Communications, Air Materiel Wing Savings and Loan Association Inc., Tao Corp., Pagcor, Unilab, Dean & Kings Consultancy, Greenfield Development Corp., Phoenix Publishing House, Kenny Roger’s Roasters, Lee Pipes, Tropical Hut Hamburger, Alaska Milk Corp., Parabolic Builders Inc., Astorga Realty, FDS Construction, Nips Chocolates, Outback Steakhouse, Petron, Vibal Publishing House Inc., Dane Publishing House Inc. and Rex Book Store Inc.
