Nurse robbed, raped, slain inside condo unit
Pat C. Santos 02/25/2009 A registered nurse believed to have been raped and robbed before she was brutally killed was found with two bullet wounds in her head inside her condominium unit in Sta. Cruz, Manila last Monday night. The fatality who was naked from waist down when discovered was identified as Rosalie Turcolas, 22, single, a native of Allen, Northern Samar and a resident of Unit 40-D Nisus building on A.H. Lacson Avenue, Sta. Cruz, Manila. Chief Insp. Alberto Peco of the Manila Police District homicide section theorized the victim was raped because she was naked from waist down while her upper dress was raised upward when her body was discovered. Case officer PO2 Joseph Kabigting, of MPD homicide unit, said the body of the victim was discovered at 7:15 p.m. the other night inside her unit by her roommate Kristine Concha. Concha said she found the victim’s body sprawled on her bed naked from waist down when she arrived in their unit after visiting her family in Imus, Cavite. “Mukhang wala pang 24 oras na patay ang biktima nang matagpuan ng kanyang kaibigan,” Peco added. Police found out the victim was also robbed as her laptop computer worth P35,000; an Ericsson K800 phone worth P15,000; a Nokia mobile phone worth P10,000, and her wallet with undetermined amount of money were missing. Meanwhile, Peco said they are not discounting the possibility the killer was known to the slain nurse. “Posibleng kakilala nung biktima ‘yung killer kasi bakit kailangan niyang patayin kung pagnanakaw lang ang habol niya,” Peco added as he noted that there was no sign of forcible entry. “Wala kasing forcible entry kaya posible rin talaga na kilala ng biktima kaya siya nakapasok sa unit,” the official noted. The security guard of the building identified as Rodrigo Vazquez and Arly Mission, building maintenance, could not give details on the incident as they were not aware of it until they were informed by the victim’s roommate. The cadaver of the victim was taken to a funeral parlor for autopsy. Police said they are still waiting for the report of the Scene of the Crime Operatives. Back to top
