Best of RP crafts, arts and furniture opens today at Greenhills
03/13/2009 The best of Philippine crafts, arts and furniture and furnishings coming from the 18 regions of the country opens today, March 13, at the exhibition hall of the Greenhills Shopping Center in San Juan, Metro Manila with the staging of the 16th National Furniture, Furnishing & Fashion Festival back to back with the 5th Philippine Folk Arts and Crafts Show. Organized by Prime Asia Trade Planners and Conventions Organizer or Patepco, this national event is participated in by some 1500 legitimate participating arts and antiques collectors and furniture manufacturers, dealers, agents, exporters, importers. The festivals, considered the biggest two-in-one show of the year, offers an array of ancestral, tribal, antique, modern, American, Oriental, turn-of-the-century furniture and furnishings and home decors including artworks, paintings, sculptural pieces, relics, ancestral jewelry and gemstones, potteries, ceramics, lamps, chandeliers, porcelain, jars, wooden and ivory Christian icons. As an added highlight, there is also be an exhibit and sale of RTWs and garments; leather goods and merchandize; Philippine sweets and delicacies; fashion accessories, sporting goods, housewares and appliances; office supplies, fashionable precious and semi-precious gemstones; woodcrafts, novelty items and corporate giveaways. Also on exhibit and sale are various kinds of cellular phones and accessories and related services, communication equipment and gadgets; computers, pets and animals and exotic flora and fauna. According to Henry Babiera, the dean of Philippine trade exhibitions and president Patepco, the holding of this trade festival is also in support of President Arroyo’s program to uplift the small and medium sized entrepreneurs and generate more jobs for the Filipinos.
