Customs donates to Oplan Sagip Bayan

Gen. Hermogenes Esperon (center), head of the Presidential Management Staff and concurrent chief of Oplan Sagip Bayan, receives from lawyer Lourdes Mangaoang (fifth from left), head of the Bureau of Customs X-Ray Inspection Project, the BoC’s contribution to victims of typhoons “Ondoy” and “Pepeng.” Through One Stop Shops (OSS) established in its collection districts, the BoC has facilitated the release of donated goods from abroad to the Department of Social Welfare and Development and DSWD-registered organizations within 24 hours. The OSS is composed of representatives from BoC, DSWD, Department of Energy, Department of Agriculture and the Department of National Defense, among others, to facilitate the release of donated goods such as food, generators and rubber boats to victims of the recent typhoons.
