Marijuana bricks loaded on passenger bus seized

Police operatives have confiscated several marijuana bricks inside a passenger bus en route to Manila during a police checkpoint.According to the police reports, some 33 marijuana bricks with a street value of P825,000 were set for delivery to a certain Maria Nessie Espenie of Sampaloc, Manila. Chief Supt. Orlando Pestano, Cordillera police director, disclosed the contraband was discovered inside two cartons at the baggage compartment of a Victory Liner Bus. The reports said operatives of the 3rd Provincial Regional Mobile Group based in Talaca were conducting checkpoints when they seized two cartons containing 33 bricks of dried marijuana weighing more or less 33,000 grams. Investigation conducted by the police disclosed the contraband was allegedly loaded by an unidentified person along Locnog Highway, Tabuk, Kalinga at the baggage compartment of a Victory Liner Bus with body number 2125 bearing license plate number CWV 917. Police were hunting down the person who loaded the illegal drugs inside the bus. Pestano said police were also looking for Espenie.
