Grand finals of singing, ballroom dancing contests for soldiers and cops
11/26/2009 All is set for the grand finals tomorrow (Nov. 27) of the Air Materiel Wing Savings and Loan Association Inc. (AMWSLAI) Search for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)-Philippine National Police (PNP) Singing Star 2009 and AFP Officers’ Ladies Club’s (AFPOLC) Quest for AFP-PNP King and Queen of Ballroom Dancing 2009 at the SM North City Center, SM North Edsa, Quezon City. Retired PAF Col. Ricardo Nolasco Jr., chairman and president of AMWSLAI, said the finalists in the singing contest are Army’s Sgt. Federico Andagan Jr., Pfc. Miriam Mangaoang, Pfc. Jojo Cruzat and Cpl. Maureen Caurel; Air Force’s T/Sgt. Raymundo Franco and AW1C Zarah Francisco; Navy’s LCDR Bayani Maxilom and ASN Genebeth Generale; PNP’s SPO2 Reynaldo de los Reyes, PO1 Immanuel Rosales and PO1 Vincent Danao, and Bureau of Fire Protection’s (BFP) FO1 Mark Anthony Lauro. AFPOLC adviser Dolores “Bebet” Ibrado said the finalists in the dancing competition are Air Force’s Maj. Teresito and Razel Manzo, A2C Eric and Rhealeen Olano and A1C Bradley and Irma Torato; Army’s LTC Rynell and Divina More; Navy’s Col. Aaron and Vivina Fetalvero, and MSG Allan and Elizabeth Ledesma; PNP’s PO2 Ronnie and PO2 Bernadete Morta; and BFP’s FO1 Jose and FO1 Alexandra Flores. The winners of the singing contest will receive the following prizes: 1st prize – P50,000; 2nd prize – P30,000, and 3rd prize – P20,000. The mother units of the top three winners will also receive cash prizes. The prizes at stakes for the ballroom dancing competition are: 1st prize – P100,000; 2nd prize – P50,000, and 3rd prize – P35,000. The non-winning pairs will get P15,000 each.
