QC officials launch ‘Biyaya ng Pagbabago’ program at QMC

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, along with District 1 Rep. Vincent Crisologo, yesterday spearheaded the “Biyaya ng Pagbabago” program primarily designed to bring various poverty alleviation measures to the people at the grassroots level.
Held at the Quezon Memorial Circle, the event, according to Bautista and Crisologo, was vital as several poverty alleviation programs of at least 14 national government agencies were offered to the local residents.
Former QC Rep., Councilor and Press Secretary Mike Defensor, District 2 Rep. Winston Castelo and wife District 2 Councilor Precious Hipolito-Castelo, UP Barangay Chairman Virgilio Ferrer and National Youth Commission Assistant Secretary Paul Anthony Pangilinan have joined Bautista and Crisologo in the significant event.
“The event was so important that it was able to gather different national government agencies in one venue and heighten public awareness about their services and programs, and how they could avail themselves of these,” Crisologo said.
At least 3,000 people gathered at the event organized by the Office of the Participatory Governance under the Office of the President, the Tribune was told.
The president of the Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Laban in District 1, Crisologo, who is running for mayor in the 2019 local polls, along with Defensor and the participants, was clad in yellow t-shirt with words “Ayaw sa Dilaw.”
“Different government programs have already been put in place. However, the public does not have much information where to go and how to avail of such,” he said.
