Affordable and reliable

The Suzuki Grand Vitara in its class is very affordable and reliable. It is also available in two variants the standard and a Special Edition variant both with 4x2 mode only. The vehicle this writer tested was the standard variant with a SRP of P1.160 million. Come to think of it how often do SUV owners on the average travel off-road. Probably not even once a month, urban SUV owners prefer this type of vehicle for the peripheral view from the high-seat height and high 188mm ground clearance, as we all experience when a heavy downpour drops by the Metro, expect flooding on the roads.
Under the bonnet the Suzuki Grand Vitara gets its power from a 2393cc J24B petrol engine with multi-point injection system that has a maximum output of 168hp/6000rpm and maximum torque 227Nm/3800rpm linked to a 4-speed automatic transmission with no transfer case and front differential (less weight) and the best part it had a 4x2 rear wheel drive system which was rare in this class. With this system the weight distribution was more equal and balanced. To position the Suzuki Grand Vitara to a halt, front and rear ventilated disc brakes were standard with (EBD) electronic brake force distribution and the (ABS) anti-lock brake system. The 225/65R17 tires mounted on 10 spoke alloys gives the Suzuki Grand Vitara a sporty exterior look.
Inside the Suzuki Grand Vitara, you have all the convenient switches for the windows, locks and side view mirrors plus 12 volt outlets for charging gadgets. At the helm of the driver-seat you can definitely anticipate the traffic ahead but in the event that you get stuck in traffic the cool climate control air-conditioning and the above listening pleasure integrated AM/FM/CD/MP3/AUX/WMA sound system wired to 6-speakers can definitely add to your patience. This writer also had on-board a portable AVT PN-504 Navigation System to assist the driver in finding un-explored locations during the test drive and an AVT A98 camcorder to document everything up front. Inside the cabin, there was enough leg, head and elbow room in the cabin plus all the seats recline individually to give pleasure to each passenger’s desired seating position. Even with after-market window tint and in inclement weather conditions, the halogen projector type headlamps density with fog lamps can beam the road ahead.
Over all the Suzuki Grand Vitara with its size and power plant combined was a nimble daily drive4425tli, which is very ideal for our roads in and out of the city also in wet and dry conditions.
