Enjoying that long road trip

Any road trip in a Suzuki vehicle — whether it’s the Alto, Celerio, Swift, Ciaz, Super Carry, Grand Vitara, Jimny or APV — can be fun. However, no matter how prepared you will be for the jaunt, there will always be potential problems.
How do you end up still friendly with your car mates? Suzuki offers the following tips.
Do not hog the radio. Decide ahead of time that controls audio entertainment.
Negotiate pit stops. If you decide ahead of time that unplanned pit stops are authorized, remember that your stop at the local wet market might mean your car mates get equal time at roadside stalls.
Discuss driving time. Some people are content to drive the entire trip, while others can drive only for a few hours. Decide ahead of time if and when you will change drivers. Keep in mind whose car you are driving and each person’s level of comfort regarding different driving conditions.
Add an extra 20 to 30 percent to your budget. Emergencies, last minute side trips, and sidetracks to the local wet market for pasalubong always put you over budget. Emergencies can also put you further beyond your initial budget.
Remember, road trips never go as planned. Do not be too idealistic while planning your road trip. Stay flexible and your road trip will be a much better experience.
