Highlands Ladies Cup gets under way August 9
07/20/2008 The third Highlands Ladies Cup unfolds on Aug. 9 with a banner field from different sectors expected to vie for top honors in various divisions at the Tagaytay Midlands in Tagaytay. The organizing Tagaytay Highlands Ladies Chapter (THLC) said the field will be limited to 150 players with the shotgun-start 18-hole tournament to be played under the Stableford scoring format. Club Car, NWA and Kia Batangas are putting up fabulous prizes for aces in the tournament with Smart as principal sponsor; San Miguel Brewery and CATS Motors as platinum sponsors; and Bingo Bonanza as silver sponsor. Bronze sponsors are Philippine Airlines, which stakes two business class tickets (Manila-Macau), Kawsek Inc, Rosalie Heo, Universal Robina Corp. and Bank of Commerce. The Tagaytay Highlands Ladies Chapter is composed of chair Dionne Cu, president Rosalind Wee, treasurer Joji Bautista, and Maline Flores and Sandy Prieto-Romualdez of the sponsorship committee. Chony Santos topped the ladies division in last year’s edition while Rodel Lara lorded it over the field in the battle for the overall net championship in the event which stakes big prizes, including for hole-in-one feats. They are expected to lead this year’s cast along with Jenz Tecson, last year’s overall gross winner, and Class A men’s category champion Alex Estabillo. Back to top
