Ateneo aims to add to Adamson's woes

Ateneo de Manila tries to keep within distance of the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament leaders when it goes up against winless Adamson today at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Lady Eagles eye a victory in the 4 pm match, as the Lady Falcons.
After a challenging first three games, Ateneo is looking good so far in the post-Alyssa Valdez era, going 2-1 in a tie with defending champion De La Salle in second place.
University of the Philippines and National University, both undefeated in three starts, are currently tied in first place.
“Balanced yung team, kailangan lahat pumupuntos,” said Lady Eagles assistant coach Sherwin Meneses.
Jia Morado is distributing the plays well for her hitters Jho Maraguinot, Michelle Morente and Bea de Leon. Kim Gequillana, the hero of Ateneo’s narrow 25-19, 24-26, 19-25, 25-16, 15-11 win against Far Eastern University, showed that she is ready to step up even as a substitute.
Ranged against Ateneo, Adamson hopes to go all-out to get out of the funk and give its new coach Air Padda the elusive first victory.
FEU, meanwhile, tries to get back its winning ways against University of the East in the curtain raiser at 2 pm.
The Lady Tamaraws, meanwhile, are raring to bounce back from the painful setback to the Lady Eagles.
FEU is sporting a 1-2 slate in a tie with University of Santo Tomas in fifth place.
In men’s play, titleholder Ateneo tries to extend its perfect run to four against Adamson in the featured 10 am match, right after the FEU-UE tussle at 8 am.
