Romeo, Jarencio say no dispute

By John Bryan Ulanday

Globalport coach Pido Jarencio and player Terrence Romeo quickly toned down what appeared to be an on-court argument that marred their exit from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup quarterfinals.
After leading by as many as 20 points early in the game, Batang Pier had a major collapse at the hands of the second-seeded Magnolia, 79-86, to bow out of contention in the season-opening conference.
Jarencio and Romeo exchanged words at the height of that collapse.
“Wala iyon. Alam mo, yung ugali na gusto mong manalo and then yung bata winner din. Minsan nagkakaroon talaga ng mainit na diskusyunan pero it's part of the game,” said Jarencio of the shouting match in the 3:00 mark of the third quarter where Magnolia seized its first lead, 54-53.
Pero wala, off the court walang problema,” Romeo affirmed.
